Muddy Outdoors went live last week with their new website.  While the look and feel is much like their old website, they have added many new features and an exciting new contest.

Please take a look at the commercial contest.  They hope to get a ton of entries and look forward to your videos.  The prizes will hopefully provide you some motivation to send your best stuff.  Online voting allows everyone to help pick the winner.

They have a renewed commitment to keeping GoMuddy.com the best site in the industry.  Relevant information and current events will be posted frequently.  Feel free to send them your comments on what else you would like to see on our site.

Hopefully, very shortly their new Climbing Sticks will be ready to ship. I have been waiting since February to get my hands on a set! Their design of sticks have eliminated the meatl buckle, which means faster and quieter set-ups!

Notice there is no metal buckle!

I already have their Safeguard Harness and more than satisfied with it. The minute you put the harness on, you will be amazed at the quality and the attention to detail that went into the harness!

What would be the perfect gift for your Father’s Day?

fathersday 125x150 What would be the perfect gift for your Father’s Day?

I remember as a child, my Mom saying “I just don’t know what to get your father for Father’s Day!”

Well, as an avid outdoorsman, my wife Amy can tell you the list of what to get me “never ends!”  In fact, it has an evolution of its own. As it grows and morphs as my challenges change, not necessarily gadgets.

So, what would I want as the perfect father’s day? It wouldn’t have to be something tangible, although, that would be nice! I would enjoy a day mirroring what we did as a family for Mother’s Day.

If you want to give your father something a little different and probably that none of his outdoor buddies have.

I have provided some examples of affordable gifts for Father’s Day:

20Sub3 – These guys can create custom Rugged Maps in USGS 7.5 minute quads, available on waterproof fabric!

ElkNut Productions – These guys produce DVD to educate yourself and not the elk!  Anything you purchase from ElkNut will provide you additional information to arm yourself with “knowledge” against the elk!

Full Moon Productions – Just save yourself the time and purchase the DVD 3 Pack, which includes Three Sixty, The Ride and PROOF! These are not your run of the mill hunting videos! This group of guys are hunting in the Alpine country with archery gear and these guys can shoot like it’s nobody’s business!

Last Child in the Woods – A very unique book by author, Richard Louv. He offers considerable evidence that many of our “sicknesses” are relate to lack of connecting in the natural world.

Muddy Outdoors – We all want to stay around and spend a lifetime with our families.  One way of doing this is with a Safeguard Harness from Muddy. It is a very well designed and built safety harness. Some of the features are its easy to put on in the dark, lightweight, comes with a lineman’s belt and has a built-in bino buddy!

SPOT Messenger - Offers an affordable alternative to personal locator beacons, satellite phones and cell-based GPS trackers. Provides virtually full coverage in North America, Europe, and Australia, portions of South America, northern Africa and northeastern Asia.

The SPOT has four basic functions. There is the all important on/off button. ”Alert 911” function dispatches emergency responders to your exact location. ”Help” feature to request assistance from friends or family. ”Check In” allows you to transmit your location and that you are okay. Your family and friends can track your progress by sending and saving points along your route to Google Maps and Facebook.

This is a unique list that I have created. So, I pose this question to you, “What would be the perfect gift for your Father’s Day?”
